Praying and Believing

March 2, 2018

We live in a cocky, self-confident culture where we think we know everything and can do everything. This produces a thought pattern that we got it and can figure it out, so we do not need to pray. Prayer is mainly used as a get out of trouble card when we’re stuck in a rut, have run out of ideas and solutions and do not know what else to do so we turn to prayer as a last resort.

When we do pray, it is a weak and timid attempt to persuade God who seem to be distant, uncaring and indifferent. This approach is an indication that we do not really know or understand the One to whom we are praying and so we approach Him from a human perspective as if he behaves and act like us.

God is kind, gracious and loving and you must go to God trusting and believing and know that you will receive that which you ask for in His name. Be assured that whenever you go to God in prayer, He hears you and will respond accordingly.

However, when you pray, you must come to God with confidence, knowing that He is touched by your needs and will answer your prayer. God promised that if you pray in humility before Him, seek His face and turn from your wicked ways, He will hear from heaven, forgive your sin and will heal the land. (2 Chron. 7:14 NIV)

God is attentive to your prayers and is available to you always. He invites you to call unto Him and He will reveal great and mighty things to you

Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know (Jer. 33:3 NIV). Start praying and believing!
